Braden Porter

My name is Braden Porter. I live with my parents and older brother in Bear, Delaware. I am a junior at a technical high school where I am studying automotive technology. I am also a member of the National Honor Society and wrestling and golf teams there. I am a fourth generation attendee of White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church. I am active in the life of my church. For two years, I served as the youth representative on the pastoral nominating committee as God led us on a successful search for a new head of staff.

I feel blessed by God to be reared in a Christian home by Christian parents and to have a church that is a true family of God. I said the all-encompassing prayer when I was six years old and many more times after that before truly understanding God’s grace and forgiveness. I can recall feeling the spirit enter and wash me clean, like a weight being lifted off my heart.  Since then, through various experiences; such as Sunday school, youth group, serving at church, retreats, and mission trips, my faith has continued to grow and mature.

I am excited by the opportunity to serve this June as an intern at EBS. I am looking forward to working with Phil on his many projects at the seminary. Having been at EBS on a mission team last summer, it will be fun welcoming, working alongside and getting to know the teams that will come through while I am there this year. Thank you for your prayers and support.
