Support EBS Personnel

Several full-time Emmaus staff are missionary personnel whose salaries and expenses are paid through self-funded support accounts rather than seminary salaries. You can invest in the ministry of EBS through supporting these families or staff members with your financial contributions.

Ayars Family

For His glory, Matt and Stacey work alongside our Haitian brothers and sisters here at the Seminary. Matt is the President of the seminary and also teaches various courses in biblical studies. Stacey teaches English, helps with the seminary finances, and helps raise awareness and support for the pastors, leaders, missionaries and evangelists who attend.

Matt and Stacey married in June 2005, knowing that the Lord was calling and confirming them both to teach His Word wherever He led. In 2007, they moved to Haiti as One Mission Society missionaries, blessed with that burden. Graduates of Asbury College (now University) in Wilmore, Kentucky, Matt finished with a degree in Bible and theology and Stacey in journalism and foreign missions. God gave them Lily Sue in January of 2009, then Sofia Lovely in June of 2011, and Nora Joy in August 2015. Matt and Stacey continue to stand upon His loving faithfulness and upon your support and prayers.

Phil & Emily Heckman

Phil and Emily Heckman moved their family to Cap-Haitien, Haiti back in 2013, to serve with Emmaus Biblical Seminary. For 5 years, Phil has served as Director of Operations, overseeing all maintenance and building projects on campus. Emily has served as Hospitality Coordinator, organizing mission teams and hosting visitors who come and serve at Emmaus, as well as homeschooling their children (Ethan and Haylie), teaching courses, and leading worship in English chapel.

As the Heckmans begin their sixth year of ministry at Emmaus, their children have both graduated high school and are attending college, and family illnesses have caused a need for change in their ministry at EBS. Both Phil and Emily will continue to serve 22 weeks of the year in Haiti, and Emily will be working part-time as Development Representative for Emmaus the other 30 weeks, in the states. While in Haiti, Phil will be working as a Special Projects Contractor (overseeing specific building and maintenance projects), and Emily will continue to serve as Hospitality Coordinator and assist with English chapel services.

As Development Representative, Emily will seek to help create, build, and maintain relationships between Emmaus and churches, schools, groups, and individuals. She will be actively seeking to raise awareness of what God is doing through Emmaus in Haiti and necessary funding to help provide quality education in order to develop “Christ-like leaders for the transformation of Haiti”.  Emily would love to come and share about Emmaus with your church, school, or group and can be contacted at emily.heckman@emmaus.edu.ht. More information about the ministry of Emmaus can be found at www.emmaus.edu.ht
